Flight price alerts: get told when your fare appears

A price alert is a standing instruction: watch this route, these dates, and email me if the fare reaches this amount. It replaces the habit of checking a booking site every evening and hoping you catch the right moment.

Setting up an alert

1. 1. Search the route. You need to see current fares before a target means anything.
2. 2. Open “create price alert”. The route and dates from your search are carried over.
3. 3. Enter your target price. This is the trigger — we notify you when a fare at or below it is found.
4. 4. Save it. The alert appears in your alerts dashboard, where you can review or delete it at any time.

Picking a target that works

Targets fail in two directions. Too tight, and the alert never fires — you spend the whole booking window waiting for a fare the route does not produce. Too loose, and every ordinary fare triggers an email, which trains you to ignore them.

A practical approach: note the cheapest fare you can see today, then set your target roughly 10–20% below it for a route you are watching early, or close to it if you need to travel soon and simply want to be told when it dips. For flexible trips, create two alerts at different targets — one you would take happily and one you would take instantly.

What arrives in the email

The alert email names the route and dates, the fare that matched, and links through to the matching result so you can review the full itinerary — airline, stops, times, and duration — before continuing to the booking partner. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and deleting the alert in your dashboard stops it too.
